The mindshift

You’re here because you want to believe. Despite the stacks of old reports you’ve been given about your nonspeaker, you always suspected they're “in there” more than the data showed. But what do you do with that hunch or intuition?

starts with you!

If your child has ever learned to do anything before - put on their shoes, click a seatbelt, pull up a chair to a table - they can learn to communicate through spelling.  Shifting your mindset to that possibility is the first step in the most rewarding journey ahead.

Getting Started is Easy

Below are eight ways to get started—some are simple and you can begin today, while others just require a quick click to order a book or reach out. No matter where you are on your journey, there’s a great place to start, right here! Take the first step and let the miracle unfold.

Find a Provider

Working with a trained provider is the best way to build the skills needed for effective spelled communication. Whether attending an in-person session, joining an online class, or connecting with a provider remotely, professional guidance will help you gain confidence as a communication partner and support your non-speaker in developing greater accuracy and efficiency.

You can visit a Spellers Center, explore a list of providers on the Spellers Community Facebook page, or enroll in an online course to get started on your journey.
